The lie of Capitalism

Do you want to be free?

How do we see through the lies and see through the blindfold that has been wrapped tightly around our eyes since birth? How do we become free of the brutal systematic controls put on our being and spirit and be truly free? We think we live in a free world where we can choose our destiny. That we are living as healthy and free as modern technology has made possible. How surprised would we be to learn that we are held flat, under an oppressive force. That our "choices" are really limited to what is allowed. That the wealthy take our children from us and brutalized their minds to equip them for their roles as capitalism's slaves.

How do we get some perspective were we can see from the outside? How can we be free of the noise of propaganda, from the forces that keep us as slaves that hurt us but that we can't see?

How?

History!

We were not always blind to our enslavement.

So let us look at the beginnings of capitalism. Lets us look at history and see how our forebears were systematically enslaved.

Let us look at London in the late 18th century.

Londoner's had spirit! And they were restless. The widening gap between the rich and the urban poor was so large it could not be hidden. Across the channel in France, they had already recognized the absurdity and revolted. The French revolution overturned the monarchal governmental structure and feudal privileges of the aristocracy and church (the rich). The people then were aware of the wealthy trying to enslave them. And they didn't take it! They brought into action the first principle of inalienable rights, and sought a fair system. Fair. That is not too much to ask for is it?

London. The rich in London were getting nervous. They knew the urban poor who they were oppressing more and more would not take it much longer. They feared a revolution. So what did they do? Did they, maybe, pay them a little more, to ease their poverty. Did they think of fairness? No! Capitalists don't think like that. They are greedy for always more even though they have more than they need thousands of times over. So what did they do? They used religion and brutality. They built more churches to put the fear of god into the poor. They increased the penalty for petty "crimes" and social unrest to death. There ended up being over 20 infringements punishable by death. Then they invented something we all think was made for our benefit. They invented the police force.

In London we had people. people like you and me who were being oppressed by the wealthy. Who were being turned into slaves. And they knew it! And they were not going to take it! So the wealthy brought into being systems to force them into slavery against their will. There was not a police force in London before the French revolution, the system of law keeping was community based. The police army was invented to stop the slaves rebelling against their lot.

In the USA, 95% of the wealth is owned and controlled by 5% of the population. This means that when you go out and do your 40 hours a week, 95% of what you do goes to the wealthy. If we had a fair society, for your current weekly wage you would only need to work 2 hours! Think about that. Think about that when you get up on Monday.

Like in the movie The Matrix where the population were, in reality, batteries, we are mere slave fodder, overworked with limited resources and dragged to an early death. We live in a world where on one side, a wealthy person spends over 25 million dollars on their daughters birthday party, and on the other the majority struggle to be able to afford basic health care.

We were born into a system that had its beginnings in the late 18th century in London. The capitalist main propaganda slogan is that anyone can achieve wealth in capitalism. This is far from the truth. The wealthy have many ways in keeping us slaves, where any reasonable person would shout revolution. They have made us addicts. They first dumb us down by promoting day and night, on TV on billboards, a drug that at the end of the week and weeknights make us less able to say,"what the..." Its called alcohol, but it is a drug. It is a mind debilitating drug and they feed it to us in rivers of oblivion. We balk at crack addicts or heroin junkies as we swill our gin and tonic. We wonder why our children do not get the message that drugs are bad as we dictate to them over a beer.

We have been made into drug addicts, object addicts, and now even porn addicts. Anything to distract. Anything to divert our attention to our slavery.

Hitler was good at propaganda. How else could he convince the people and the soldiers that they were the good guys when the very insignia on their uniform was a scull and crossbones... Hello?

We should be living different lives. We should be living in paradise, with infinite abundance and time. Time. Time to be with our love ones. Time to rest properly, time to play fully. Our children should be learning life enhancing skills at school. Not just how to be tools in the system. This world is ours, not just the 5% of wealthy. The wealthy have more than they could possibly use, still they want more. Corporations must make a bigger profit every year. If their profit is huge, but still not more. They fire poor workers, or tighten their system of slavery to get more work out of their slaves.

We should be living in paradise. We can be. We need to awaken like Neo.

We are born into debt... we owe the wealthy, the corporations, a lifetime of debt... we will never pay it off... our lives are owned by the wealthy and corporations... we will never awaken free. We will never own our own lives. WE are the victims of a selfish system, the market economy, profit above everything, extreme capitalism. It doesn't have to be this way... if only we could all wake up and see the matrix... the lie... we are fodder, we are expendable... we are beasts of burden and the powers that be look upon us as little more than batteries.... And we take it all our lives.

If we, all of us become aware. If we seek the truth and don't bury our heads in the sand, WE, can make this wrong world right. WE have all the power. Without us the world comes to a stop. The Corporations come to a stop. WE are the masters, not the governments, not the corporations. If only all of us were awake. William Henderson.
